To ensure the safety of all dogs staying at Waggles, there are specific requirements we must follow to keep everyone happy and healthy.
Updated Requirements and Conditions
Please read each of the following requirements and conditions closely. All of the things listed below are for the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all the guests and staff at Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC. Failure to adhere to these requirements and conditions could result in the denial of future booking requests.
- All dogs attending Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC are required to be up-to-date on (and provide documentation of) Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies vaccinations before stepping foot on the property. This is required not only for the safety of the other attendees, but also for the safety of any new dog dog(s) should he/she come in contact with another dog carrying the aforementioned diseases. Please know that despite our best cleaning efforts, Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC is not aware of every place our clients have traveled and therefore cannot be held responsible should a dog contract one of these diseases.
- Parasite prevention is required. Whether chewable, topical, injections, or collars; some form of prevention is necessary. This is addressed in the waiver each client signs at the evaluation. If fleas, ticks, or other visible parasites are observed; the dog will be sent home promptly. If Owner is unable to pick him/her up within an hour, Owner is expected to arrange a pick up by a friend/family member. If neither of these options are possible, Owner is expected to arrange boarding at a veterinary office in town and the dog will be transported there. The appropriate treatment will be provided for the dog and will be paid for by the Owner. 50% of the total payment received for his/her stay will be refunded, but additional fees may be charged for transportation.
- Each dog must pass an in-depth evaluation before booking for daycare or overnight care. This evaluation will be split into two parts listed below.
- Meet and Greet: Owner and dog(s) are welcomed into the empty backyard. Dogs can be unleashed and allowed to explore, sniff, and run while Owner answers some basic questions about their energy level, temperament, socialization, and other care instructions. Once the dog has had adequate time to explore, one of our personal dogs will be introduced to test the initial reaction to another dog. If all goes well, a couple calmer dogs may be introduced.
- Play Date: Owner leaves for a minimum of 2 hours so the dog can be further assessed. During this time, more dogs will be slowly introduced. The caregiver will see how he/she reacts to sharing snacks, sharing toys, playing with the others, as well as how he/she behaves indoors (i.e. will he/she be anxious, pacing, marking furniture, etc.) and in a kennel (unless kennel anxiety is previously mentioned). If all goes well, they are all set to book! If there are any issues, the caregiver will address them and let Owner know if the dog is approved or denied for booking.
- Kenneling is required for attendees. If your dog has kennel/confinement anxiety, please make this known to the caregiver before his/her assessment. We have very limited spaces available for out-of-kennel sleepers and an additional fee will be applied (see section 6 in policies for more info). Special requirements are enforced for such cases and can be disclosed upon request. All other attendees will be required to sleep in a kennel at night for their own safety.
- Attendees must be spayed/neutered if past the age threshold listed below.
- Female dogs ages 6 months or older must be spayed to attend. If she is not spayed at the time of her evaluation, Owner must have a date scheduled for this procedure to take place BEFORE her stay.
- Male dogs ages 12 months or older must be neutered or have a date set in the near future for this procedure. Exemptions can be made at the discretion of the caregiver if the dog remains intact for medical or developmental reasons advised by a vet for UP TO 2 years of age. This exemption only applies if the dog does not urinate indoors, excessively hump, show signs of increased aggression and unruliness, or cause a disruption with other intact/neutered males.
- Sufficient food supply must be provided by Owner to last the entirety of the dog’s stay. If Owner fails to bring enough food, we will purchase the needed brand/formula and a reimbursement will be expected by the time of pick up.
- Food must be in a SEALABLE container or bag. Opened bags of kibble over 15 lbs are not allowed and MUST be in some other form of container, baggie, tub, etc. This is done to aid in the prevention of pests and rodents. Wet, refrigerated, or frozen food is permitted with the appropriate means of storage.
- Attendees must be housebroken. Puppies must be MOSTLY housebroken at the time of their stay. Pee pad training is not considered to be fully housebroken by Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC. If your dog is strictly pee pad trained, Owner is required to provide a sufficient amount of pee pads for the length of the dog’s stay.
- Excessively dirty or unkempt dogs will be turned away or sent for a bath (paid for by Owner). Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC is a home environment and excessive filth or stench is not appreciated and requires extensive cleanup. An abnormally foul smelling or filthy dog will be addressed. Normal amounts of dirt from playing outdoors is acceptable and expected. This requirement is referring to a level of filth that falls outside of a normalcy. Baths that are needed due to a potty accident or other event that occurred on our property will be provided if the dog is exceptionally dirty.
- Excessive barking, baying, howling, or whining is not tolerated. Normal barking/baying during play is acceptable and expected. Occasional baying/howling is acceptable when triggered as long as it is manageable by the caregiver and does not exceed a certain limit. Whining in kennels is expected, but if it is excessive and does not resolve after the first or second night, it will be addressed with Owner and other arrangements may be necessary.
- Dogs that jump or dig out from underneath fences will not be approved for booking. If a dog shows any intent to jump the fence/gate or begins digging along the fence line, Owner will be notified and this dog will no longer be allowed off leash when outdoors. Furthermore, if Owner is aware of any of these issues from previous boarding or daycare experiences, he/she is required to inform the caregiver at the meet and greet. This is further addressed in the Consent and Release of Liability waiver.
- Destructive dogs will not be permitted to book. Purposeful destruction of any object belonging to or existing on the property of Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC will be addressed with Owner. Should this destruction result in the costly replacement or repair of said item, reimbursement may be expected. Should a dog destroy or greatly damage the belonging of another attendee, reimbursement may be expected at the discretion of the other attendee’s owner (see section 7 in policies for more info).
Updated Policies and Procedures
The following policies and procedures allow Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC to operate more efficiently. Please refer back to these policies when booking your dog for daycare or overnight care with us.
- Payments are due in full AT OR BEFORE DROP OFF. If additional fees are added on during the dog’s stay, these will be paid AT PICK UP.
- Scheduled drop off and pick up times should be as precise as possible. If an exact time cannot be provided, an estimated time of arrival within an hour window should be provided. If plans change during travel and the ETA needs to be adjusted, Owner should let the caregiver know through call or text as soon as possible. **Failure to let the caregiver know of a change in arrival time may result in an early/late fee of $0.20 per minute before/beyond the 15-minute grace period**
- As covered at the meet and greet, for drop-off and pick-up please text the number provided when you arrive. The caregiver will always meet you in the driveway or at the welcoming gate to retrieve dogs and belongings. We ask you to please not approach the front door or ring/knock at this door as it disturbs the dogs (and people) inside.*** Under no circumstances should clients open gates themselves, enter the gated area on the deck, or enter the yard unless the caregiver is physically present and has given verbal permission to enter. This is for the safety of the clients, guests, and caregiver***
- The price of overnight care is made up of the cost of daycare + an overnight fee of $5. This $5 overnight fee is also applied if last minute overnight care for daycare attendees is needed OR if the requested drop off/pick up time for both daycare and overnight care falls beyond our operating hours (6:30 AM-7:30 PM).
- Emergency Contacts must live within 30-40 minutes of our facility and MUST physically be in Clarksville at the time of your booking. If an emergency contact is provided that does not live in or around Clarksville OR that will be out of town during the time of your booking, you will be denied service until the emergency contact is updated to fit our guidelines. **Spouses can be emergency contacts, but please include an additional contact if said spouse will be out of town at the time of your booking**
- If a dog destroys property belonging to Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC or another attendee, reimbursement may be expected. The following scenarios are based on real events that have taken place within the last year and will include the desired outcome:
- A dog that has never shown signs of separation/kennel/confinement anxiety is placed in a kennel overnight. Within 15 minutes while the caregiver was just getting ready for bed down the hall the dog has busted up the vinyl tray of the kennel and bent part of the kennel door and frame. The caregiver responds to the commotion and sees the destruction, takes a picture, and notifies the owner. This dog is then placed in a kennel by the couch for closer monitoring overnight. The wire kennel door and frame are easily bent back into shape, but the kennel tray is beyond repair. The owner is notified of the cost of a new kennel tray and a reimbursement is made.
- A dog is dropped off for daycare and is immediately let into the current playgroup full of his/her friends. As the caregiver walks through the crowd of dogs holding the new dog’s leash, one dog jumps up and grabs hold of the cloth waste-bag holder attached to the leash in her hand. The dog takes off into the yard with this item and refuses to drop it or to come when called. As the caregiver attempts to retrieve the item from the dog’s mouth, the dog is actively tearing it to pieces. Once the caregiver finally catches up to the dog, the item is destroyed beyond repair. Both owners are notified of the event, and the owner of the dog at fault offers to replace the waste-bag holder or provide a reimbursement.
- A dog is overly excited upon entrance to the playroom. The dog takes off quickly and runs across the couch, bumping into the lamp located behind it. The lamp crashes to the ground, the bulb breaks, and the lamp’s base is cracked. The dog is checked over for injuries, the mess is cleaned up, and a new lamp is ordered online. No reimbursement or replacement is required because this was an accident. When the owner is notified of the event, he/she offers to pay for the new lamp. The lamp was cheap (as are most of the furnishings in the playroom for this exact reason) so the caregiver politely declines.
- During an indoor playgroup, one dog runs quickly through the room and knocks into a food container belonging to another attendee. The container falls over and upon inspection, the lid is cracked. Both owners are notified of the event, and the owner of the food container understands it was an accident and does not expect reimbursement or replacement. Should he/she have requested reimbursement or replacement and the owner of the dog at fault refused, Waggles Dog Sitting, LLC will put the cost of a reimbursement toward a daycare or boarding credit.
- General Cancellation Policy: Cancellation must occur 2 days in advance of the arrival date for no fees to be applied. If cancellation occurs beyond this grace period, 25% of the total cost of the scheduled booking will be required.
- Cancellation Policy for high-demand weeks, school breaks, or holidays (these dates will be highlighted on our yearly calendar): Cancellation must occur 7 days in advance of the arrival date for no fees to be applied. If cancellation occurs beyond this grace period, 50% of the total cost of the scheduled booking will be required.
- No-Show-Policy: If no warning or advance is given and a client does not show up for their scheduled arrival date, 75% of the total cost of the scheduled booking is due. No further bookings will be accepted until this balance is paid. 3 no-shows will result in a flag on your profile, requiring you to pay a 30% deposit before booking for boarding.
- If a client gets back into town earlier than the scheduled departure date for the dog and wants to pick up early, no refund will be provided for the remainder of the booking. If a client has not yet paid the invoice, the full amount will still be due and no adjustments will be made.
- An emergency contact is required for attendees staying overnight. This emergency contact should be someone staying in town who could be readily available should your dog need to be picked up for a medical reason, behavioral issue, etc.
- Aggression of any kind is not tolerated. Minor corrections are not punished if they are easily settled. This will be assessed at the required evaluation.
- If a dog gets injured/sick, gets into a fight, or exhibits a behavior that is not acceptable; an incident report will be filled out, signed by owner, and filed. A copy will be provided to the owner as well. This allows us to keep track of any developments in a dog’s behavior and their health and wellness history.
- 3 Strike Policy: For non-dangerous behaviors that are not harmful for your dog or others, Waggles Dog Sitting operates on a three-strike policy. This means that if a dog exhibits any of the following behaviors, to the extent that it causes a major disruption in playgroups, inside the house or playroom, or during rest periods; he/she will have 3 future bookings to show improvement or provide a solution before he/she will be refused.
- Excessive and uncontrollable barking, howling, baying, or whining
- Marking of territory indoors or frequent urination not caused by an underlying issue
- Excessive humping of other dogs
- Separation anxiety (unmedicated) that results in constant pacing, restlessness, and whining or other afflictions directly caused by anxiety
- Inability to settle down during rest periods or overnight
- Facebook allows clients to interact with each other and with us. We often post interactive activities such as contests, challenges, or photo opportunities.
